Call of Nature on Oakwynd

Image
Welcome to the Call of Nature guild on the Everquest Oakwynd - evolving TLP server. Call of Nature is a casual guild that welcomes new players and veteran players alike. We are family friendly and roleplay friendly as well. The guild truly is a collection of wonderful, supportive individuals! Why are you called <Call of Nature>? The name is play on words between adventuring but it’s also a reference to how EverQuest has become second nature to many of us. You never seem to just quit and always come back to it. Will you answer the Call of Nature? We hope you answer the call to play EQ again and join us for the casual community guild experience. Why should I join <Call of Nature>? No toxicity. Low stress. We are the one stop shop for all of your casual playstyle needs. We are also a Roleplay friendly guild as well. Aside from that, if you fell behind your friends on a previous server then we hope to change that feeling by providing a robust roster of casual players that a...

Called to Velious!

Image
Scars of Velious is now unlocked on Oakwynd! This also adds 125% Faction modifier to the server along with the 125% loot modifier which was added with the Ruins of Kunark unlock. On 14 Sept, characters started gathering in North Desert of Ro by the docks to wait for the raft to Iceclad Ocean.  As the time for the raft (and transport gnome) drew near, a couple trees grew from the ocean shallows and even a grandfather clock was seen on the shore. The boat arrived and many piled on.  We set off on our journey to the frozen lands... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... Loading, please wait... ... And many of us still on the boat were returning to the docks in North Ro. The transporter gnome was much more reliable and the new lands were open to all.  Druids and Wizards swarmed merchants known to provide transportation spells to new locations...

Called to take on Kunark Dragons

Image
Dragons down!!! In the last week before Velious unlocks, Double Dragons shifted to the warmer jungle climes and Severilious fell to our force in about 30 mins. Our main tank and raid leader got the Green Scales and now has shiny lightsabers! We quickly moved to the heat of lava rivers in Skyfire and took down Talendor, too, also in about 30 mins.  Buoyed by our speedy success, we decided to take a chance and take on Trakanon.... and it was a learning experience. We did not succeed, but were also not prepared with potions, et. al. But, we know we will be able to take Trakanon on soon with proper preparation.

Called to Progress

Another XP bonus weekend! With the Velious unlock close on the horizon, we took a break from any raiding during the XP bonus time and had gobs of guild groups in various locations to advance our characters and many new alts were created as well! On Friday 9/1 morning, I took a 'dump' of the guild roster and again on Wednesday 9/6 to make a comparison. NOTE: The bonus XP had been on for a few hours before I took my first snapshot and off for several hours before I took the last due to my being on the west coast of North America. From my two roster snapshots I derived some numbers. 343 characters were played between 9/1 and 9/6  134 Mains 209 Alts 2350 levels were gained. Current character count by level (only those active since 8/1): 60: 120 55-59: 48 50-54: 76 45-49: 37 For a guild that, before the server launched, we thought would be maybe 30-40 players... geeeeesh.  It was an amazing weekend and my own main, Vyxy, also got to 60 which is absolutely delightful for me. ...

Called to Terminate Innoruuk

Image
Ding dong, the Prince is dead! We triumphantly terminated Innoruuk! Mr. Knobby Knees finally succumbed to our force and gave up many wonderful treasures to combatants including his Eye! The better to see us all to a stronger force to take on even more challenges. Called to Bee This week we were also triumphant in taking on Bazzt Zzzt and paving our way forward to the last island on our path to vanquishing the Plane of Sky. And I got my opportunity to fly! The guild's raiders successfully returned once more to the classic Dragons, still working on getting them to give up the treasures to advance our epic seeker's needs.  The guild continues to grow, adding more members weekly, building our community and helping each other to progress.

Called to Vanquish Cazic-Thule

Image
Our brave Call of Nature raiders took on the ruler of the Plane of Fear and vanquished him! Cazic's Slime Blood helped one of our Necromancers achieve his Epic as well. Speaking of epics... Throw that Shrimp on the Barbie! We took on Faydedar to help one of druids finish their Epic quest.  We also took on Ragefire in Skyfire to help a cleric finish his and have another fight with Ragefire coming this week.  Our Champions have also been arranging excursions against smaller targets as well. We've been taking trips into East Cabilis to take out a Vessel for Enchanters, getting Guts for Bards in Burning Woods and Skyfire, and many trips to City of Mists and Chardock for several classes.  The community of Call of Nature is coming together to help others in the guild to progress and that helps all of us progress.

Called to Epic Achievements!

Image
Several members of Call of Nature have completed the Epic quest for their class! Other rogues who also achieved their Epics were hiding and so are not part of the picture. Many more are close to finishing their quests as well.  Called to Slay Innoruuk Destination: Plane of Hate Target: Innoruuk Perpetrators: Call of Nature On our latest trip to the Plane of Hate, we decided it was time to take on the Prince of Hate himself, Lord Innoruuk. We tried our best to take down this abhorrent being, but alas.... He thought it was just a "walk in the park". We shall return! We will be stronger and hopefully better equipped.  Before we took on Innoruuk, we cleared all of the major minions of his realm. We played the swan song for the Maestro and took on all the rest as well. We obtained armor, a few epic quest pieces, and other items for our raiders.  Called to Royally Succeed Earlier in the week, we journeyed to Chardock to take on the Royals there. In the cramped hallway spaces, w...

Called to Slay Dragons, part deux

Image
Naggy's dead! On our second trip to his lair, Lord Nagafen fell to our mighty adventurers! After Naggy gave up his treasures, he disappeared into the ethos leaving behind our force of raiders. We rightfully took our place on the throne.  Before killing Lord Nagafen, we took on his mate again, and bested Lady Vox as well. We gained many treasures from the Dragons and still had more time in our day! Called to Fish Many of us then we went to Kedge Keep for a spot of fishing. A star in his own watery world... The fishman was peacefully minding his own business... He went down fast, but, sadly no spine. He did give up his robe, though, so that was a win.
